The Social Security System (SSS) has partnered with Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) to launch a microloan facility that will provide qualified members with short-term cash loans for immediate needs.

SSS Loan Lite allows qualified SSS members to apply for and receive microloans through the RCBC DiskarTech mobile app. SSS will provide the loan to borrowers while RCBC will provide the platform where both application and related transactions will be processed.

Eligible SSS members can avail of short-term cash loans ranging from P1,000 to P20,000, depending on the member’s average 12 latest monthly salary credit and applicable guidelines.

The loan carries an interest rate of 8 percent per annum, equivalent to approximately 0.67 percent per month.

The program offers flexible repayment terms of 15, 30, 60 or 90 days. Borrowers also have the option to set up automatic debit arrangements using their DiskarTech accounts.

The microloan program is available to active members with at least 12 months of posted contributions, subject to final eligibility requirements. SSS said members can apply for the loan without employer certification.

Members with existing short-term loans such as salary, calamity or emergency loans can also apply for the program, provided these loans are not yet past due.

However, SSS said only members with at least 36 total contributions will qualify for the maximum loan amount. These members must also have at least six posted monthly contributions within the 12-month period immediately preceding the loan application.

Applicants should also have the maximum monthly salary credit under the Regular Social Security Program, excluding Provident Fund contributions, to qualify for the maximum loan, SSS said.

SSS president and chief executive Robert Joseph de Claro said the new microloan program will provide qualified members a secure and convenient digital borrowing experience that supports their immediate needs while also promoting responsible participation in the formal financial system.

RCBC executive vice president and chief innovation and inclusion officer Lito Villanueva said the program combines the agency’s trust with the convenience of the bank’s DiskarTech.

“Beyond convenience, this initiative empowers Filipinos with access to safe, affordable, and regulated credit whenever they need it most. It reflects our continuing commitment to use digital innovation to improve financial inclusion and promote healthier financial behaviors among Filipinos,” Villanueva said.

The partnership builds on the two firms’ earlier collaboration on the MySSS Card, also powered by RCBC DiskarTech.

MySSS Card onboarding through RCBC DiskarTech has grown 830 percent since its launch. SSS benefits disbursed through the platform exceeded P2.69 billion from January to July 2026.
