THE Social Security System (SSS) and Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) are scaling up their pioneering public-private partnership to further advance financial inclusion and social protection through digital innovation. Building on the success of the first MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech, the two institutions are launching the SSS x RCBC Digital Micro Loan, available soon through the DiskarTech app.
This newest collaboration enables SSS members to apply for microloans and receive funds instantly in their DiskarTech account, marking a major leap in the government’s digital transformation journey toward faster, more convenient and more inclusive financial services.
Since the launch of the first MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech, daily account onboarding has surged by an unprecedented 2,310 percent, underscoring the strong and growing demand among Filipino workers for simple, secure and digitally enabled government financial services.
To date, over 50,000 SSS members across the country have availed themselves of the MySSS Card, providing them with an all-in-one ID and debit card that integrates government and financial services in one secure digital platform.
SSS funds will be earmarked for the digital micro-lending program, which will be available to SSS members who are RCBC DiskarTech app users by early next year.
SSS x RCBC Digital Micro Loan features
The loanable amount is up to P20,000 with a loan term ranging from 15 days to 90 days. Interest rate is eight percent per annum. For disbursement, funds are instantly credited to a member’s DiskarTech account.
According to SSS, the total potential loanable volume, based on estimated qualified members, may reach up to P24 billion, signaling a transformative opportunity to extend responsible credit access to millions of members across the country.
“Through this partnership with RCBC, we are not only modernizing how our members access financial services but also ensuring that no Filipino worker is left behind in the digital economy,” says SSS President and CEO Jay de Claro, adding, “This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission to provide accessible and affordable financial support to our members, now made faster, simpler and more secure through technology.”
RCBC Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation and Inclusion Officer Lito Villanueva says, “This is a powerful example of how digital public-private collaboration can transform lives. By combining SSS’s trust and reach with RCBC’s fintech and digital capabilities through DiskarTech, we are reimagining inclusive lending, instant, transparent and truly responsive to the needs of every Filipino worker.”
