MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) won two distinctions at the Philippine Quill Awards 2026 for communication initiatives supporting financial inclusion and consumer empowerment. The bank was recognized in Category 10: Community Relations and Category 7: Marketing, Advertising, and Brand Communication for its RCBC ATM Go Agency Banking Initiative and MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech, respectively.
The Philippine Quill Awards, organized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines, recognizes excellence in business communication based on strategic communication, creativity, and impact.
In Category 10: Community Relations, RCBC was recognized for its engagement strategy supporting the RCBC ATM Go Agency Banking Initiative, which expands access to financial services through community-based banking partners. By enabling micro-entrepreneurs to serve as banking access points, the initiative brings cash-in, cash-out, and other basic financial services closer to underserved communities across all 82 Philippine provinces.
The initiative also emphasized community engagement, local trust, and financial literacy to help connect underserved communities to the formal financial system.
In Category 7: Marketing, Advertising, and Brand Communication, RCBC was recognized for its campaign for the MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech, launched in partnership with the Social Security System (SSS). The three-in-one solution combines access to SSS digital services, a digital banking account, and a debit card, providing members with a more accessible entry point to formal financial services.
The campaign highlighted how strategic communication and government partnerships can help make digital financial services more relevant and accessible to Filipinos, particularly those who have yet to adopt formal banking and digital payments.
“These recognitions affirm our belief that communication is a powerful catalyst for financial inclusion. Whether we are bringing banking closer to communities through ATM Go or making formal financial services more accessible through the MySSS Card, the goal is to build trust and remove barriers for Filipinos,” said Lito Villanueva, Executive Vice President and Chief Innovations and Inclusion Officer of RCBC.
RCBC’s two Quill Awards recognitions highlight the role of strategic communication in turning financial innovations into solutions that Filipinos can understand, trust, and ultimately use.
Earlier this year, RCBC was the only Philippine bank among the 2026 IABC Gold Quill Awardees, receiving an international distinction in the Customer Relations category for its communication campaign for RCBC Pulz’s pioneering U.S. Virtual Account. The campaign highlighted how the digital banking solution enables Filipinos without a U.S. address to access a U.S. Virtual Account, supporting the financial needs of freelancers, remote professionals, virtual assistants, and overseas Filipinos.
The Quill recognitions add to RCBC’s growing track record of using strategic communication to make innovative financial services more accessible and relevant to customers.
