RCBC taps SSS membership base for “Loan Lite” digital credit push

Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) and the Social Security System (SSS) are launching a “phygital” credit facility to dismantle high-cost informal lending networks, marking a significant escalation in the digitizing of the Philippine social safety net.

The partnership aims to provide eligible members with digital loan applications, instant fund disbursement and seamless repayments through the RCBC DiskarTech app.

To support the transition for unbanked workers, RCBC will activate on-ground touchpoints across select SSS offices nationwide. These stations are designed to provide on-site assistance for account onboarding and the issuance of the MySSS Card Powered by RCBC DiskarTech, a Mastercard-branded debit card.

SSS president and CEO Robert Joseph M. de Claro said the move ensures “no Filipino worker is left behind in the digital economy,” emphasizing that the state fund is prioritizing faster, more secure access to affordable credit.
