Lito Villanueva, Executive Vice President and Chief Innovations and Inclusion Officer of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC), accepted the bank’s fifth consecutive win for the Philippines’ Best Bank for Digital and this year’s award for Best Bank for SMEs from Euromoney.
Villanueva graced the Euromoney awarding ceremony at The Westin, Singapore. RCBC bannered its digital solutions — RCBC Pulz, RCBC DiskarTech and RCBC ATM Go — and their empowering impact on the lives of small and medium enterprises or SMEs, the underserved and unbanked Filipinos in rural and remote areas of the country, and Filipinos living and working abroad.
The three solutions were pioneering digital financial tools offered to various segments of society. RCBC Pulz provided a one-stop shop hyper-personalized array of services for emerging affluent and mass affluent Filipinos; RCBC Diskartech was the world’s first financial inclusion application in Taglish (Tagalog-English) and Cebuano; and RCBC ATM Go was the country’s first and most extensive network of grassroots-oriented and bank-agnostic automated teller machines or ATMs that serviced Philippine local government units, which resulted in a 100-percent nationwide coverage.
