RCBC EVP earns back-to-back ‘Legend CIO’ awards, shares insights at World CIO 200 Summit

PARAÑAQUE CITY, PHILIPPINES – Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC)’s Executive Vice President and Chief Innovations and Inclusion Officer Lito Villanueva was chosen for a second year in a row by the renowned The World CIO 200 Summit Awards as ‘Legend CIO’ last July 19, 2024 at City of Dreams Manila, Parañaque City.

The award winners are chosen based on their experience in the field of innovation, and tireless commitment to sustainability, innovation, and transformation.

Villanueva also highlighted his experience in leading the bank’s digital transformation journey through a panel discussion entitled, Unleash the Might: Creating a Unified Vision and Stressing on the Importance of Aligning Diverse Stakeholders around a Shared Vision for Transformation.

The World CIO 200 Summit 2024 gathers global thought leaders, innovators, and visionaries to incubate and execute transformative and collaborative ideas that are set on changing the course of development of technology all over the world. At the heart of the event is ‘digital transformation’ bolstered by top-notch experts, executives, and transformative entrepreneurs.

The panel discussion was an opportunity for Villanueva to share RCBC’s strategy and sojourn towards materializing digital finance and financial inclusion inside and outside the bank’s operations. He shared internal practices and workplace culture that enabled ease of communication, meaningful collaborations, and aligned values and vision within RCBC. The panel discussion was moderated by  Arlene Romasanta, Director of Knowledge and Information Systems Service (KISS), Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Other panel reactors were  Sheridan Leroy Laroza, Senior Director of Information Technology, Thermo Fisher Scientific; Norman Carcellar, Chief Information Officer, Unioil; Dennis Omila, Executive Vice President Chief Transformation Officer, Union Bank of the Philippines; and Charlie Valerio, Chief Information Officer, Aboitiz Power Corporation.
