TAGUIG CITY, PHILIPPINES – Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), the fastest-growing bank in the Philippines and leading digital challenger, was awarded “Best Brand Program,” “Best Program in Digital Marketing,” and “Best Electronic Channel Program” in the recently concluded 5th Bank Marketing Awards 2023 organized by the Bank Marketing Association of the Philippines (BMAP).
The awarding ceremony was held during the 2023 Financial Education and Stakeholders Congress organized by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, last November 14, 2023.
This year’s Bank Marketing Awards had one of the highest turnout of over 31 nominations from various banks in the country for the following categories: Best Product Program, Best Brand Program, Best Electronic Channel Program, Best Program in Digital Marketing, Best Financial Inclusion Program, Best Customer Centric Product or Service, and Best Sustainability Drive.
The bank’s pioneering digital solutions RCBC Diskartech, RCBC Pulz, and RCBC ATM Go, took the spotlight in the awards ceremony for making financial inclusion more accessible to underserved and unbanked communities in the Philippines.
RCBC Diskartech was recognized as ‘Best Brand Program’ after it leveraged various strategies anchored upon meaningful partnerships with the national and local government units to make digital finance not only available but popular among the yet-to-be-banked sectors of the country.
RCBC Pulz stole the spotlight as this year’s ‘Best Program in Digital Marketing’ by scaling its hyper personalized services targeted to the mass affluent. The digital service focused upon the availability of a wide array of services including in-app investments, foreign currency exchange, AI-powered upselling and cross-selling services, cardless withdrawals, and check deposit services, among many others.
The massive reach of RCBC ATM Go as the largest and widest network of grassroots-oriend and bank-agnostic services in rural and remote areas earned it the ‘Best Electronic Channel Program’. By partnering with entrepreneurs in far-flung and low-income barangays and providing them livelihood, financial services became functional and relevant to a wider set of people which increased rural bank onboarding and dependability on services.
Collectively, the three services under the RCBC Moneybela Barangayan Banking program boosted rural bank onboarding by 210% in 13,116 barangays out of 42,000 barangays nationwide. They have also cemented the position of the bank as a multi-awarded digital challenger.
RCBC’s massive digital transformation journey with impact and scale is being recognized globally.
“By designing our solutions to deliver customer-focused and empathy-centric, RCBC continuously redefine the meaning of disruptive innovation for inclusion. With these accolades from our marketing peers in the banking industry, we hope that digital solutions providers and innovators pivot towards creating services that cater to the underserved and often overlooked communities,” said Lito Villanueva, executive vice president and chief innovation and inclusion officer of RCBC.
RCBC has emerged as the fastest-growing bank in the country, leapfrogging from eighth position in 2018 to fifth in 2022 among the Philippines’ largest privately owned banks in terms of assets. The bank has received various local and global recognitions, including a four-peat award as the Philippines’ Best Bank for Digital by Asiamoney, the Eye on Innovation Award by Gartner, Youtube Challenger Award, and Rank 1 in the Philippine Best Customer Service 2023 survey by the Philippine Daily Inquirer and global research firm Statista.
