Rizal Commercial Banking Corp (RCBC) is pushing its digital deposit platform to capture retail savings ahead of the fourth-quarter holiday spending season, as inflation continues to strain Philippine household budgets.
The bank’s RCBC DiskarTech offers annual savings yields of up to 4%, along with unlimited free InstaPay and PESONet transfers.
MySSS Card holders using RCBC DiskarTech can also avail themselves of a ₱1 cashback fare promotion on LRT-2 until Aug. 31.
RCBC said consumers could prepare for year-end expenses by setting aside small amounts regularly rather than waiting until they have larger sums to save.
The bank also encouraged consumers to cut discretionary spending where possible, such as buying coffee outside or ordering meals, and redirect the savings toward financial goals.
Small amounts accumulated over time could be used to build an emergency fund, cover holiday expenses or meet other financial needs, it said.
RCBC said developing consistent savings habits ahead of the holiday season could help consumers better manage the heavier spending typically associated with the final months of the year.
