TAGUIG CITY, PHILIPPINES – Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) and Tambunting have entered into a partnership that will expand access to digital banking services through more than 100 Tambunting branches across the Philippines.
The two organizations recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that will enable the deployment of RCBC ATM Go’s agency banking services across Tambunting’s branch network, further extending financial access to underserved and remote communities.
The partnership strengthens RCBC ATM Go’s position as one of the country’s largest grassroots-oriented agency banking networks, with a presence in all 82 provinces.
Through its compact mobile point-of-sale terminals, RCBC ATM Go enables partner establishments to offer banking services such as deposits, QR-enabled withdrawals, international Visa and Mastercard cash withdrawals, bills payment, mobile loading, remittances, fund transfers, account management, and government benefits cash-outs.
Under the partnership, RCBC accountholders may also conveniently make cash deposits to their RCBC accounts through participating Tambunting branches, further expanding access to essential banking services beyond traditional bank locations.
At present, 57 Tambunting branches already offer RCBC ATM Go services. Both organizations aim to expand this to 101 branches by the end of July.
The expansion is expected to bring banking services closer to communities that have limited access to traditional banking infrastructure while enabling Tambunting to broaden its service offerings to customers nationwide.
Lito Villanueva, Executive Vice President and Chief Innovations and Inclusion Officer of RCBC, said the partnership reflects the bank’s continuing commitment to expanding financial access through technology and strategic collaboration.
“At RCBC, we believe that financial inclusion is a team effort. We cannot do it alone. That’s why we are grateful to work with a trusted institution like Tambunting, a brand that generations of Filipinos know and trust,” Villanueva said.
“By combining Tambunting’s strong community presence and RCBC’s digital solutions, we can help more Filipinos save, transact, and achieve their financial goals,” Villanueva added.
Officials from Tambunting also expressed the same enthusiasm for the partnership, underscoring its potential to bring Filipinos further and farther. Miguel Tambunting, President and CEO of Tambunting Pawnshop emphasized the partnership with RCBC helps materialize the company’s commitment to expanding financial services to Filipinos yet to be banked.
“We are proud to be your partners. We’re going to do what it takes to make this fruitful and move forward. It has always been our goal at Tambunting to reach as many people as we can, (especially) the unbanked,” Tambunting said.
RCBC ATM Go continues to play a central role in the bank’s inclusion strategy alongside RCBC Pulz and RCBC DiskarTech. Through these platforms, RCBC has expanded access to digital financial services for Filipinos across urban centers, rural communities, and overseas markets.
